About Me

I’ve been playing guitar for over 20 years and teaching for more than 15 of those. What started as a handful of lessons has grown into Kirklees Guitar School, a community that now supports hundreds of students locally every single week.

Alongside the in-person lessons, we’ve also built an online community of over 20,000 guitar players. Through YouTube, the Academy, and Zoom sessions, I work with students from all over the world, helping them build confidence, improve their playing, and actually enjoy the process of learning guitar.

When I’m not teaching at Kirklees Guitar School, I also work as a session guitar player, performing with a variety of acts and theatre touring shows across the UK. That real-world playing experience feeds directly back into my teaching, helping students focus on the skills that actually matter when it comes to making music with others.

Every lesson you take in the group setting is backed up with clear, structured support to help you keep progressing at home. As well as guided content on YouTube, you’ll get access to supporting materials inside the Kirklees Guitar School Academy, including TABs, walkthroughs, and lesson resources—so you’re never left wondering what to practise or how to move things forward between sessions.

How Does It Work?

Lessons take place from my studio in Springfield Mill at Denby Dale. I usually get prospective students in for a session for you to see the facilities and to see how you get on. I have a core syllabus I have developed over my career that I work your favourite music and styles into to keep the lessons fun and engaging.

The sessions last for 45 mins and are billed half termly via invoice after the initial session.
